Hastings Great White Way
Hastings Great White Way 48″x60″ acrylic on canvas

Vancouver’s Hastings Street once had more vaudeville theatres and nickleodeons per-capita than anyplace else in the Pacific Northwest and was nicknamed “Hastings Great White Way” after the legendary Broadway in New York.

White Way, of course referred to all the lightbulb signs which reflected nicely in Vancouver’s rainy climate.

This acrylic on canvas, 48″x60″ painting is set around 1920 when traffic still drove on the left – like in England.
